The WTA 500 season now moves from Ningbo to Tokyo, where the Toray Pan Pacific Open stands as Japan’s biggest WTA tennis tournament of the year. From October 20–26, 2025, the spotlight turns to the Ariake Coliseum, the nation’s premier tennis venue and home of this iconic event.
With $1,064,510 in prize money and a strong field expected, Tokyo is bringing together some of the tour’s best for a focused, quietly intense week at the Ariake Coliseum. The atmosphere may be calm rather than crowded, but it’s always thoughtful — the kind of setting where good tennis speaks for itself.
Elena Rybakina seals WTA Finals spot as draw tightens

Newly crowned Ningbo champion Elena Rybakina has turned momentum into certainty in Tokyo, clinching her place at the 2025 WTA Finals midway through the week. She arrived chasing points; she leaves with qualification secured and her hard-court form validated.
From the original chasing pack, only Belinda Bencic and Linda Nosková have pushed through to the quarterfinals. Ekaterina Alexandrova, Leylah Fernandez, and Karolína Muchová fell earlier than planned, underlining how sharp the margins have been across the draw.
