The Upper Austria Ladies Linz, now in its 34th edition, is a premier WTA 500 tournament held from January 26 to February 2, 2025, in Linz, Austria. Hosted at the TipsArena Linz, the tournament boasts a rich history, with past champions including former world number ones such as Lindsay Davenport, Justine Henin, and Maria Sharapova. This year’s schedule includes daily sessions starting as early as 10:00 AM and evening matches not before 6:00 PM local Austrian time. We keep you posted about all the results.
Local player Sinja Kraus successfully qualified for the main draw but then lost to Anna Blinkova. The Russian went on to beat Elina Svitolina. Karolina Muchova had no problems eliminating Sorribes Tormo.
By that time, Petra Martic was the only remaining qualifier. She met Ekaterina Alexandrova in the quarterfinals who defeated her in three.
In-form Clara Tauson and Karolina Muchova seemed to be the players to beat in the semi-finals, but both failed.
Alexandrova won the match against Ukraine’s Yastremska after a hard-fought third set.
